Panasonic dmc-fx07 will not operate?

After my daughter dropped the camera down the stairs, it will to work. When I turn the camera on, the lens will not open. Also, the red light on the upper right hand corner of the camera (front) will stay illuminated. This red light activates when you are using the timer. Thought I'd ask before taking it to the camera shop for an ysis.
