Is it a sin what Chris Benoit did?

I just learned what happen to him yesterday so, sorry if i'm jumping back into the Benoit tragedy, just want to know ur honest opinion, I know its kinda religousy, im catholic, and wanted to know if what he did was a sin. So yeah, the ping of himself and his family are his fault, but because he took steroids which changed himself, so he wasn't really himself when he did that, does he deserve to be in hell for it? srry again for sounding religousy, it just got me thinking...
