Would a mac book serve good for editing video?

The graphics card on the Macbook is the weak link for using any pro apps. with it. Look at the system requirements for the graphics on the programs you want to use. I know that one can't run Final Cut Studio with the Macbook. I agree with the others, a MBP would be better but if you can't afford one and you don't need the portability of a MB, an iMac would do everything you want. I've read mixed opinions about the glossy screen of the Aluminum iMac for use as a photo editor though.

I'm sorry to say this but all of them are very, very bad. The notbooks themselves are old as well as the hardware in them (which are the parts of the computer). The best one out of the six is the fifth one. The Sony Vaio PCG-7F1L Notebook. However, it is still not a good choice. You can get a new notbook that is 10 times better if you are willing to pay a little more money, which I strongly recomend. However, it all depends on what you are going to use the computer for. For example, if you are going to only use it for typing on word, and simple internet browsing then the notebooks you list (especially the 5th one) are fine. Also, if you prefer a mac more than a pc then the first one on your list, the Apple iBook 12" is the best.

What is the root cause of the Tamil Problem in Sri Lanka? Is it language or something else?

Tamil is an Official language in Sri Lanka and every Sri Lankan Tamil can have their education in their mother tong up to University level. No other country provides this facility where there is a large minority of Tamils. The Tamil problem stems from British colonial era of the country due to Britain’s vicious divide-and-rule policies which made the Tamils, especially Jaffna Tamils, a privilege community over the Sinhalese majority of the country during their rule as the Sinhalese were not willing to corporate with the British rulers. The British kept on snatching lands from Sinhalese with vengeance and committed atrocities against them through out the island during their 100 year brutal rule and drastically changed the ethnic demographics by bringing in Indian Tamil/Telengu speaking plantation workers to Sri Lanka. With the independence in 1948 what Sri Lanka attempted was to minimise the cl differences created by Britain by way of providing access to education in local vernaculars -Sinhala/Tamil for all her citizens and giving the languages their due places in the Public Administration fields. Sinhalese was made the official language as it was the majority’s language and like in any other democracy majority gradually became the rulers. Sinhalese did not crush Tamil culture and they did not impose Sinhalese on Tamils rather what they did was promoting both cultures at the expense of English, the impact of which was felt equally by the English educated Sinhalese and Tamils. However the Tamils took the switching back to local languages in the administration spheres as a blow to them and their culture when infact it was English and the cultures of English educated Tamils and Sinhalese which were losing ground. As Tamils comprised mostly the then English educated elite in post independent Sri Lanka their actions and campaigns against the majority in the name of preserving their culture coupled with later economic difficulties with the opening up of the economy in 1977 which resulted in the loss of market value for Tamil farmers’ products over cheap imports, prepared the foundations and breeding grounds for radical uneducated elements like Prabakaran who saw only injustices caused by the Majority Sinhalese comfortably forgetting that their culture was not at stake under Sinhalese but heeded to the venom spewed out by the Tamil elite cl created by Britain who were agitating to regain their privileges masquerading as crusaders of Tamil rights. The whole problem of ethnic strife is a legacy of the Britain. It should be noted that Sri Lanka is only 62 years old since independence and wounds inherited and inflicted upon the inhabitants for more than hundred years during the British rule will take some more time to heal. Tamils who comprise only 10% of the total population of Sri Lanka do not have unique problems which are different to that of Sinhalese, both communities have the same set of economic problems but their perceptions are different due to one being the majority and the other the minority. It has to be remembered that Tamils as a race fiercely guard their culture and language against actual or the perceived threats from out side and they have the notion that they used to rule the whole of Asia in the past. The Jaffna Tamils specially boast of that their language is much purer than the South Indian Tamil but they forget that the purity in their speech is mainly due to the free quality Tamil education provided by the Sri lankan Government whereas in India it was only recently that Tamil was made compulsory in Tamilnadu- the authentic home land of Tamils. Therefore, it is imperative for any Sri Lankan Gvt to understand the problems perceived by Tamils as arising due to being Tamils and provide concrete counter arguments to eliminate the misconceptions amongst them.

I agree with you. But the problem is that most of those who think that Creationism, or Intelligent Design, should be taught along with Evolution don't understand science. When they hear that Evolution is a theory, they think that means wild speculation, and that any other wild speculation is equally good. They think that only proven facts should be taught, and that if there are no proven facts, than anything is fair game. The problem, of course, is that science is the process of disproving alternative theories, not of proving anything, and we really have no proof of anything!

Trying to duplicate a dressing marinated recipe?

My husband brought home the tastiest chicken sub I've ever had, it was simple chicken cubed and marinated in italian dressing, but the dressing is also the sauce. My husband said that he watched them make the sandwich and the chicken was on the stovetop in a covered pot simmering in the dressing. Is that it, could it be that simple?? Anybody ever try this? I bought some dressing and am thawing some chicken hoping to try it, I'm not sure if I should cook the chicken first and then add to the dressing and simmer on the stovetop or what.... help!

I've recently been researching UK breeds and was shocked to find how rotten they are. Basically it seems to me that every breed has several serious health issues; usually eyes and joints, but also other really horrible conditions of their brain and/or organs that are fatal. This will give you some fun, innocent time away from your spouse, doing something just for you. You can also take a cl at your local Jr. College. They have all kinds of community cles in everything from pottery making to Anthropology. You will broaden your mind, meet new people, and set a good example for your kids. Meanwhile, make a time-line for getting your finances in order, and getting that divorce. When you have filed for divorce, and ONLY after you have filed for divorce, you can start looking for new female companionship. If you do things the right way, you will be able to get up in the mornings and look in the mirror and see a guy you like staring back at you. Good luck.

Sitting with children in the bath?

I have a 3 and a half year old and an almost 5 year old. I was talking to another parent the other day who was really rude when I told her that I don't sit with my kids while they bath. This is the time I use to tidy up, and get their PJ's ready. I can always here them talking to each other (they are loud in the bath) and I will always check on them. They know to always sit in the bath, they don't stand unless they have to get out. I would never put my children in a dangerous situation, I just know that I dont have to sit there as they know all about the dangers in the bath. What to other people think? Believe it or not there may be CERTAIN cases where boxing and jui jitsu would be sufficient...with that said...the more you learn the better off you are...but to use an example...one of my favorite fighters, Mac Danzig, specializes in Boxing and BJJ, hes looking pretty sharp right now, and even though im sure somewhere along the way he practices kick boxing, the principles of boxing and BJJ in the right hands can be ver dangerous...being a proficient boxer makes you capable at ending a fight at ANY moment, just the same, being good at BJJ enables takedowns and takedown defense, with submissions and ground game obviously...conclusively, if your taught what to look for and you can counter and survive low leg kicks...and kicks in general...then yes, JJ and Boxing MAY be sufficient..but learning more is always beneficial.....also to clarify...when you say MMA in between...MMA is mixed martial arts, so if your studying jiu jitsu and something else, boxing or kickboxing, you already are MIXING martial arts.....

I need some help. I just found out that an extended family member, in her late 40s, has Stage 4 colon cancer.?

She was in relatively good health until she was diagnosed a few months ago. The cancer has spread all over her liver, to her lungs, and to other places, but I'm not sure where. She had surgery, but the doctors didn't remove anything because they said the cancer was too widespread. They decided to try chemo, but after a few sessions, they said her body was rejecting it- which I ume to mean that it wasn't working- and for some reason, decided not to try any more treatments. They have given her less than 6 months. I love her very dearly, but I do not feel that I can ask her or her immediate family question about her medical care because it might seem intrusive. I am struggling emotionally with this news, however. I don't understand why further treatments wouldn't be done. What would make a doctor decide to stop chemo all together after such a short time? Could there be something I'm not hearing through the family gvine about her condition that would make chemo no longer an option?

She'll drop the feeding on her own, but for now go in and let her eat. As long as you have her on a good solid routine and bedtime and wake up time are as close to the same every day as possible she'll start dropping the night feedings herself. My son was 4 months (your daughter's corrected age) when he started dropping a feeding here and there, by 5 months it was 50/50 on whether he would wake at night for a bottle and by 6 months he was sleeping through. No feeding water or refusing a bottle or giving a pacifier or letting him cry it out at that point. He just naturally progressed and began sleeping 12 hours straight on his own. Some babies do this earlier than others, let baby decide when she is ready for this.

Okay, First I want to point out that I am in no way shape or form a Pittsburgh fan. I do, however, respect their defense a lot. The Cardinals have just come off playing a top defense in the Philadelphia Eagles, and they handled them easily. However, I feel that after the Ravens and the Steelers, there is a huge drop off until the next best defense. Recently I had 2 wks of bronchitis and my voice has been slightly rough and about last week i could finally get my full voice back with all it's pitches and tones just can't get to a high tone or a high tone, like my voice loses itself again or I just blow air and nothing comes out. What is healthy to drink?

I used to drink pop all the time but I have since switched to only drinking water, milk (very seldom) and 100% no sugar added fruit juices. However, people are telling me that fruit juices have just as much sugar as pop, and are just as bad for you. What am I supposed to drink? Other than water that is?

Should I let my daughter go to...?

My daughter was invited to a carnival by one of her best school friends. I think that there is enough social time at school and she doesn't need to hang out with friends on the weekends. The carnival is on a Sunday which is our family day and it's at a church. We are a very Jewish family. My German Shepherd injured my Lhasa Apso,?

Hello, Just wanted to know what our family should do. Our 2 yr old German Shepherd has tried to attack our Lhasa a total of 6 times. 3 times we were able to grab her before she was able to put him in her mouth, but the other 2 times she got him and we did get him loose. The last time she got to him, d his abdomen and we had to put him to sleep. We fought with her to get her jaw open but nothing worked.My son finally got her to drop him, and we rushed to the hospital. I don't understand why she acted this way, we got her at 5 weeks old and he was 5 yrs old, when she turned 2yrs thats when it started with the problems. We had her in training at 7mths and she did well with other dogs, and have taken her to dog parks and 2 times she growled at 2 dogs there. We had them separated all the time and then worked with the trainer again with both of them together. The trainer never thought she would hurt the lhasa, said she wanted to play, But we saw if differently. We thought if she ever got the chance, she would kill him, and thats what happened. She has never been aggressive to us or any other human, but she did cause injuries to my son who was bitten several times trying to stop the fight. Because she did cause the injuries that killed my Lhasa, what should I do now. Please let me know what you think? We are very saddened .

Hereditary Cancer treatment success...?

My maternal grandfather ped away at age 54 of cancer. My maternal grandmother ped this Summer 2010 at age 68 of and ovarian cancer. My mom (age 48) was diagnosed with cancer not long after that. The cancer is in multiple places in her as well as in her lymph nodes. She is now being treated with chemo. She has a quite a history of cancer in her family. Please be honest. Does this decrease the likelihood of successful treatment??

Is Eating Dog/Cat Wrong?

Usually in the U.S. and most of Europe people would find eating dogs and cats distasteful and somewhat disgusting, and usually not because of the taste. It shows how people take for granted the killing and eating of animals for our own satisfaction. I am not a vegan or vegetarian but personally I find it somewhat disturbing how little people value life that is not human.

Problems with a dell laptop?

Saddle leather repair?
